Una nuova pellicola d’impronta vampirica è stata infatti da poco realizzata in Gran Bretagna, e si intitola Temptation, diretta da Catherine Taylor, e scritta da un’altra donna, Julianne White. Un film quasi tutto al femminile, con protagonista Isabel, che una notte viene assassinata da un uomo, e salvata in extremis da una splendida vampira chiamata Aurelie, che la riporta in vita con il suo sangue, e le concede 48 ore per compiere una scelta che in un senso o nell’altro deciderà per sempre il suo destino: accettare il dono eterno, oppure rifiutarlo e morire definitivamente. Temptation, che ha già partecipato ad alcuni eventi di genere tra cui il prestigioso Bram Stoker International Horror Film Festival, uscirà in Dvd per il mercato americano a fine giugno, edito da Breaking Glass Pictures».

Great cinematography, use of colors and classical score (except for the end credits), all very rare in true independent cinema. All female cast and crew lend credibility to a story which seems to be an allegory of a young girls journey into womanhood. As the protagonist (Isabel) transforms into a Vampire, we are reminded of a young girls confusion and excitement as she experiences her first menstrual cycle. It would seem the writer or director has something against men, as there aren't any positive male roles in Temptation. And with the not-so-subtle lesbian undertones throughout... There is some sex, a very brutal rape scene, good editing, some nudity and a bit of violence. Like the sex, when the violence does occur, it's pretty full on. The only thing that stops this film from getting top marks are the obvious budget constraints - but the filmmakers have worked around these whenever possible. Hopefully a re-make or bigger budget sequel will iron out the low-budget kinks. ...».
