Trama e commenti: serialtv.it - it.wikipedia.org: «I fratelli Winchester si recano a Red Lodge nel Montana, per un caso di strane mutilazioni di mucche. Arrivati sul posto cominciano con le solite indagini che li portano all'obitorio del luogo dove analizzano il corpo di una ragazza decapitata. Indagando scoprono che in realtà la ragazza è un vampiro; un po' confusi, continuane le ricerche e chiedono in giro per vedere se qualcuno sa qualcosa, tanto da attirare l'attenzione di Gordon, un altro cacciatore amico di John. Gordon però, dice ai fratelli Winchester di lasciar perdere questo caso in quanto lui da solo è già da tempo che ci sta lavorando. La sera stessa, Gordon si reca al covo dei vampiri e se non fosse stato per il repentino intervento di Sam e Dean, sarebbe rimasto ucciso nello scontro. Tornati al pub, Dean e Gordon parlando trovano molti punti in comune tra loro e decidono di allearsi contro i vampiri, trovando però Sam in disappunto. Sam, tornato al motel, chiama Ellen la quale dice a Sam di non collaborare con Gordon. Nella stanza, Sam viene attaccato e rapito da due vampiri e al suo risveglio Sam si ritrova a parlare con Lenore, una donna vampiro, la quale gli dice che loro uccidono mucche in quanto si nutrono con il loro sangue ma non uccidono uomini. Sam, convinto dalla donna, torna da Dean, che intanto si era mobilitato per cercare il fratello, e gli dice di fermare la caccia in quanto i vampiri sono buoni. Dean però non è d'accordo con il fratello e, appoggiato da Gordon, va al covo dei vampiri per ucciderli tutti. Qui, Gordon lega Lenore e, vedendo che Dean stava ricredendosi, taglia Sam per farlo attaccare da Lenore per mostrare loro che la natura della donna non poteva cambiare. Lenore però resiste convincendo definitivamente Dean, che riunitosi a Sam si trova a combattere contro Gordon. La lotta tra Dean e Gordon vede il primo uscirne vincitore mentre Sam riesce a mettere in salvo i vampiri buoni».

Wheels In The Sky over the previously on scenes, and then Back In Black to reintroduce the Impala. Very slick. I thought coming in that we would probably get an episode that dropped the overall arc in favor of a creature of the week show. For the most part, that's what we got. There was a much more relaxed vibe as we got into this episode. The big setup scene with the girl running from the baddie reminded me of the Friday the 13th movies. Right up until the baddie started sprinting anyway. Jason, while a killing machine, is more tortoise, less hare. Of course the beauty of this scene was revealed later. After Dean and Sam run their Weekly World News scam (HA!), they get into the morgue to get a look at the girls head, and what do you know, she's a vampire. Cool special effects shot with the fang too. Suddenly everything we saw in the opening is flipped around. Gordon (Sterling K. Brown) is an interesting character. He served as a good standard to compare the differences in Dean and Sam. I think this episode does a lot to show just what it is that they get from each other. That was also a nice scene when Dean was talking about how he isn't handling John's death very well. Of course, then it all went to hell. Because Gordon is one twisted dude. I didn't think we really needed the scene with Ellen (Samantha Ferris) at the Roadhouse to clue us in to Gordon being dangerous, but I guess it was there to show us that the Roadhouse gang is a part of this season. And that led to Sam being nabbed by the vampires. Two great things about that little development. ...».
