ampia del termine, ambientati ognuno in un diverso quartiere della città di
Parigi. In effetti, il progetto originario prevedeva 20 episodi, uno per ogni arrondissement, ma due sono stati sacrificati a favore dell'equilibrio

notte le vie deserte del quartiere della Madeleine, un giovane turista si
imbatte nelle scena orrorifica di una splendida vampira che si sta nutrendo del
corpo di un uomo. Lei è così affascinante che è lui stesso ad offrirle il
proprio sangue, ma poi perde i sensi e precipita da una scala, rompendosi la
testa. Lei gli "salva la vita" trasformandolo a sua volta in un vampiro e i due
finiscono per mordersi amorevolmente a vicenda.».

je T'aime is a portmantu of 18 short films by reknowned directors and stars.
Each short vignette is based on a different area of Paris and explores some
aspect of love. The 15th short "Quartier de la Madeleine" directed by Vincenzo
Natali is the only vampire offering and thus the focus of this review. However,
just because "Quartier de la Madeleine" is the only vampire offering, that does
not mean you shouldn't check out some of the other shorts, some of them are
superb! (Just have nothing to do with vampires!!!).
The plot then: Tard dans la nuit (late one night...) a lost? young tourist
(Elijah Wood) chances upon a beautiful female vampire (Olga Kurylenko) feeding
from an old man. She cleans her mouth and then glides over to attack our
cowering hero. Something about his scent however stops her from biting him.
Vampire and victim look lingeringly into each others eyes, but pain soon follows
as our vampire relaises that love between a vampire and human is impossible.
Sadly she begins to float away.
Our hero picks up an empty wine bottle and slashes his wrist, offering his blood
for the vampire to feed. She rejects his offer and leaves him standing folornly,
blood flowing down his arm. The reality of what he has just done hits him and he
stumbles, slipping on a pool of his own blood. He falls backwards down a flight
of steps, cracking his head. Blood pools around his head in the shape of a heart.
The vampire returns and does the only thing she can - feeds him her own blood,
turning him into a vampire. The pair embrace, but rather than kiss her, our
newly turned vampire goes for the jugular. At first our vamp seems shocked then
grins before biting him in return. The film fades in a heart shape».
