Quando si va a vedere un film come Underworld: evolution non ci si aspetta un film impegnato. Lo spettatore vuole spegnere il cervello e godere di un'ora e quaranta minuti di sano intrattenimento. Purtroppo il film manca di tutti gli elementi degni di un buon film d'azione: ritmo, montaggio serrato e colpi di scena. Dopo la prima mezz'ora di proiezione, durante la quale vengono esaurite tutte le idee, la pellicola si trasforma in una sequenza molesta di combattimenti, inseguimenti e sparatorie. Tra esplosioni al ralenti e attori che volteggiano appesi a cavi d'acciaio, la delusione sopraggiunge inesorabile come un appuntamento con il boia».
