terzo capitolo,
se possibile sempre più inventivo, con un finale accelerato che vede
protagonisti spiriti che letteralmente indossano i corpi dei mortali pur di
sconfiggere il male (spunto già presente sia in Encounter of the Spooky Kind,
con Sammo Hung trasformato in un lottatore divino, personificazione del Monkey
God, che in The Dead and the Deadly). La serie prosegue tra alti e bassi,
prevedendo, era inevitabile, anche ibridazioni azzardate come monaci taoisti che
combattono vampiri occidentali (Vampire
Vs. Vampire, diretto dallo stesso Lam Ching Ying nel

the wave of the enormously popular 1985 smash hit
Mr. Vampire,
this film -- directed by Billy Chan -- offers more of the same. Master Chin (Chung
Fat) and Priest Wu are feuding brothers vying for a chance to bury the brother
of a local crime boss. When Chin manages to snag the potently lucrative job, Wu
strikes back by bringing the corpse back to life as a vampire. While Chin and
his underlings are trying to stop the undead lad from sucking anyone's blood,
grave robber Wang Choi (Chin Siu ho) steals into the grounds and accidentally
breaths into the mouth of a beautiful female body. The incident mysteriously
revives the lass as a semi-dead automaton who imitates everyone's actions. The
woman turns out to be Hsu-wan (Pauline Wong), the beloved concubine of a crazed
general who is furious that anyone disturbed her grave» (Jonathan Crow).
