«Terzo ed ultimo capitolo della saga avventuriera più amata del grande
schermo. Decisamente superiore in qualità e spessore rispetto alla seconda, L'ultima
crociata non riesce però ad eguagliare I predatori dell'arca perduta.
Deciso a strafare, Spielberg abbonda in spettacolarizzazioni che raggiungono sì
l'obiettivo di stupire ma finiscono per prendere il sopravvento sulla
narrazione. A dare una ventata di aria nuova è sicuramente l'entrata in scena
di Connery che, remore del bagaglio linguistico-caratteriale della saga 007, dà
maggior tensione alla ricerca. Bellissima la scena delle catacombe dove si
nasconde il Santo Graal, infestate di trabocchetti metteranno infatti a dura
prova l'intelligenza del prode Indy. Il duo Connery-Ford funziona alla
perfezione, fascinosi entrambi sarà difficile stabilire a chi dei due spetta
la palma di impavido avventuriero. Abbozzata e più ridicola che efficace
invece la presenza dei fascisti nelle catacombe, Spielberg mescola le carte ma
non sempre riesce a seguire con eguale precisione i suoi personaggi» (Tania

«It's one of the only trilogies in which the third holds up quite well to
the previous two films. Indiana Jones and the Last
Crusade, the
third in the Indiana Jones Trilogy, is a total blast. Sean Connery comes in to
play as Henry Jones, Indy's father, who completes Indy in his adventures rather
than clash with him like a lesser movie would have done. The film is much like
raiders, in which it pits Indy (but this time with his father) against nazis who
want something holy. Don't get me wrong, I like movies were nazi's get the shit
kicked out of them, but add some origality in the ass kicking. I mean you can
step on goosesteppers in many different ways. I hope that the fourth film has
the nazis looking for something else, or better yet, no more nazis».
