Trama e commenti: mymovies.it - comingsoon.it - cinematografo.it: «Mustafà, governatore della Minchionia, da tempo ostenta disprezzo per il sultano, Mammaluch, tiranno del Paese. Dopo che alcuni dei suoi stessi ambasciatori sono stati imprigionati dal ribelle, il sultano incarica Karamurat di recarsi nella reggia di Minchionia per scoprire di quali mezzi si serva l'avversario onde plagiare con tanta sicurezza cortigiani, militari e sudditi. Mustafà, avvertito della mossa, tenta di pararla inviando la favorita Suleima alla capitale e catturando Lotar, fratello di Karamurat. Questi, via facendo, sgomina il bandito Alì Babà e libera Suleima, fatta prigioniera dallo stesso. Raggiunta Minchionia, l'eroe viene circuito da Suleima che sta capeggaindo una rivolta contro Mustafà. Non cede alle lusinghe e trova appoggio nella giovane Elisir nel suo gigantesco patrono, Faccia d'Angelo. fingendo momentaneamente di spalleggiare il governatore, Karamurat ottiene la libertà di azione che gli permette di scoprire come il segreto di Mustafà sia riposto nella ipnotica "polvere Bianca" che riceve dalla Cina. A questo punto, il fortissimo eroe non attende neppure la reazione del sultano Mammaluch e distrugge l'intera fortezza di Minchionia».

Kara Murat is a warrior hell-bent on avenging atrocities committed by the Byzantine army. Valuable in part as a slice of Turkish film history, this scrappy, low-budget action adventure now looks appallingly inept. However that's not to say Kara Murat: The Sultan's Warrior is without appeal and though poor production values raise a smile, buried within is a sort of Turkish historical Rambo. The action pretext here is a bitter family feud between Sultan Khan and Byzantine leader Niktol. This swiftly spirals out of control and Kara Murat (Arkin) is dispatched by the Sultan with instructions to avenge the death of both his mother and his lover. Posing as a Christian, Kara Murat heads out to Lesbos where he wages a bloody, one-man crusade against the Byzantine army. Though the film relies heavily on action, it's rarely very convincing. Shaky cameras, cack-handed editing and some equally cack-handed swordplay render the fight scenes rather ridiculous. Arkin is an actor whose range doesn't extend beyond the glower and even that becomes difficult when he has his eyes put out. A fairly obscure slice of cheerfully crap world cinema that may yet find an audience among fans of cheapo late night action. Verdict: Poor quality and implausible action adventure that's nevertheless occasionally rewarding, though not always for the reasons intended».

Un film (turco solo sulla carta: in realtà sembra un "medieval-spaghetti"...) conosciuto anche con il titolo: Karamurat: The Sultan's Warrior. Uno dei film più trash e involontariamente comici sul Medioevo: una divertente frittata di luoghi comuni condita da una recitazione meravigliosamente stupefacente (nel senso letterale del termine).
