«Romeo and Juliet Are Dead is a new film production that proposes a unique
creative experiment– to bring together a community of individuals of mixed,
ages, experience and nationalities, all working for free, in the magical
location of a 15th century Chateau in France. For this present day filmic
reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece, two young directors and their
cast and crew of established professionals and art school students, from all
over the world, have re-imagined what being an outsider in modern life might
entail. Based (loosely) on Shakespeare's text, Romeo and Juliet Are Dead
is a 20 minute short film. The story follows the last days of three young people
as they live an exuberant fantasy of love and lust and death».
