Senza sapere che si tratta di un principe, e non di un semplice apprendista del Palazzo Reale, Cenerentola sente di aver incontrato la sua anima gemella. E quando i reali invitano tutte le fanciulle del regno a partecipare a un ballo, spera che il suo destino stia finalmente per cambiare e di poter nuovamente incontrare l'affascinante principe (Richard Madden). Purtroppo la sua matrigna le proibisce di andare al ballo, strappandole l'abito che avrebbe dovuto indossare. Ma come in tutte le favole che si rispettino, qualcuno accorre in aiuto: una gentile mendicante (Helena Bonham-Carter) si fa avanti e, con una zucca e qualche topolino, cambierà per sempre la vita di Cenerentola».
