The film was an ambitious work incorporating a variety of visual media, and it didn't take long for the project to tip off the rails; as the film began to collapse, Roach and producer Stanislav Semerdjiev were forced to abandon production. Eight years after shutting down I, Hamlet, Roach and Semerdjiev take a look at the picture that was not to be in the documentary Avantyurata Hamlet (aka The Hamlet Adventure). Combining surviving footage from the I, Hamlet shoot with visits to the original locations and interviews with the creative team, The Hamlet Adventure strives to give a picture of the film Roach wanted to make as well as sharing the tale of what went wrong.
