Florence LaBadie makes a rather glamorous Cinderella, but is nearly upstaged by character actress Anna Rosemond as the wicked stepmother. Thanhouser went all out for this, the company's Christmas release of 1911, and the special effects -- especially the transformation of the haggard slavey into a fairy princess -- are elaborate for the time.
