Tsuruta, on his way to deliver funds for the war against the bandits, is attacked, and the money is stolen. While Tsuruta goes after the bandits to clear his name, his younger brother, Hirata, is encouraged by evil family-friend Kawazu to tell everyone that Tsuruta, took the money. Tsuruta joins forces with the bandits and sets out after his brother upon learning that his father has been killed and his fiancee has committed suicide. Tsuruta storms the castle with his fellow thieves, kills Kawazu, and looks on as his brother jumps to his death».
